Shamrock Hall
Overview:
From DJ Mike H:
Shamrock Hall is located inside of a church. When I got there, I didn't think I was at the right location, because I didn't think I was going to a church, but I was. It's called The Church of St. Patrick, so be on the lookout for that with your map.
Load-in isn't too bad, you'll pull up in front of the door and bring your gear all the way to the back of the room where your table will likely be. It's a bit of a walk once you get inside the door to your table, so asking me for a cart isn't a bad idea. I don't remember if the venue has carts or not, but I kind of doubt they do.
There's some pretty high ceilings, but they shouldn't have too much impact on your acoustics because of the sound limit. I remember having no problem whatsoever with the sound.
Decibel limit of 90 decibels. It will seem a bit quieter than normal. If you have a smartphone, I'd suggest downloading a decibel reader app. They're free and work great. If you don't, then ask the venue if they have a reader that you can use. If you abuse this limit or even flirt with going over that 90 DBs, they will let you know and will not be happy about it. Please be smart and keep yourself within 90 DBs. The clients know there's a limit and I sign a contract stating that our DJ will cooperate with these rules.
Load In:
You can pull up right to the front door, but once your in, there's a decent walk to your table. Ask me for a cart.
Challenges:
The decibel limit will certainly pose a challenge. People dance when the music is louder, there's no question about it. It's going to feel quieter than normal, but that's perfectly okay. This is what the clients have signed up for and it's what needs to happen. Be sure to have a decibel reader on your smartphone.
Extra Venue Call Questions:
Do you have a decibel reader I can use?
Do you have a cart?
