Somerby Golf Course is a very nice golf course about 65 miles from the warehouse in Byron, Minnesota. Load-in is relatively simple as most golf courses are, all you need to do is pull up to the front door and the ballroom is just a short walk from the front door. The ballroom doesn't pose a lot of challenges, it's a rectangle shape and doesn't have any quirky spots. I've only been there once, but the cocktail hour was in the same location as the reception. However, it is possible for the cocktail hour to take place just outside of the ballroom, meaning you'd have to move a speaker out there and put on an iPod.

The only potential challenge would be if you're having an outdoor ceremony. The ceremony takes place about 200 yards from the building on the other side of the tennis courts. You'll have to move one speaker out there along with the wireless microphone. This is a good venue to ask for the ceremony mixer.

Easy. Pull up to the front door and load in!

Special Considerations: 

Somerby Golf Course is a very upscale golf course and it seems like clients would have to spend a fair amount of money to have their wedding there. With any upscale venue, clients have a different set of expectations than if they were at a VFW for example.

Challenges: 

I don't see this as a particularly challenging venue. Like I mentioned, the ceremony requires you to walk out a bit and get things set up some distance from the building, but aside from that, you should be smooth sailing.
