Town & Country Club
Overview:
From DJ Mike H:
The Town and Country Club is a private golf course in St. Paul and is one of the more upscale wedding venues we perform at. It's also less than a mile from the warehouse.
The load-in is easy, but you have to make sure you're at the right door. There are a couple different parking lots, but you're going to want to be on the side closest to the red-light intersection and then pull up as close as you can to the door. There is a ramp up to the door and the ballroom is just to the left.
There are a couple different locations you can be set-up at, but usually the DJ will be located on the right side of the ballroom. The floor plan looks similar to this Tetris piece and you would be located in the square. This can pose challenges since the walls can prevent the sound from fully traveling from the space during speeches. I can't remember off the top of my head if they have a venue microphone or not, so you'll want to ask about that. I would use that for the speeches if they do have one.
The cocktail hour will either take place inside the ballroom or in the space just outside of it. If you're outside of the ballroom, set-up a speaker and ask me for an iPod.
Once the dance starts, you'll be smooth sailing. The location and walls are set up well for the dance.
Load-In:
Easy, just pull up to the door closest to the red-light intersection.
Challenges:
Being you're in a square within the rectangle shaped venue, it could be difficult to have the sound avoid the walls to get sound to travel throughout the space. Use the venue microphone (if they have one) or move your speakers up during dinner/speeches so they don't interfere with the walls.
Extra Venue Call Questions:
Where will the cocktail hour be taking place?
Do you have a venue microphone I'd be able to use for speeches?
