W Minneapolis the Foshay

W Minneapolis at the Foshay Tower is a hotel in Downtown Minneapolis. There are several ballrooms, but the most common ballroom is located on the second floor. You will have to ask to ensure you know which ballroom you're at. I will describe the location of the second floor ballroom being that is the most common one and is the only one I've been at.

You will load-in through the loading dock as most downtown hotels have you do. Call ahead to determine the location of the loading dock and whether or not you need to be buzzed in to get inside.

Once you get upstairs to the second floor, you will notice the ballroom is relatively easy. It is a rectangle shape and isn't overly large, meaning your speakers will do just fine during the speeches and background music. You'll be located on the middle of the skinny side of the rectangle shape right where the dance floor is. The biggest challenge in this venue is the load-in and once you're in, you should be all good.

Cocktail hour could take place outside of the ballroom, but the only time I've been there, the cocktail hour was held inside the ballroom.

Load-In: 

You'll have to go through the loading dock and will need to call to get the information about how that process will work.

Challenges: 

The load-in can be a challenge itself. Also, traffic downtown is always unpredictable, so give yourself extra time.
