Kellerman's Event Center

Kellerman's Event Center is attached to a couple other buildings in White Bear Lake. Load in is pretty easy, you can pull up right next to the venue, if there aren't cars already parked there. If there are cars parked, you'll have to move down a bit farther.

Often times, cocktail hour will be over by the bar, rather than the main dinner/dance area. You won't have a table set up over there and it can be very crammed with people during this time. Just set up a speaker and play cocktail music though the laptop (or an iPod) plugged directly into the speaker. You'll have to make a loud, clear announcement to get everyone's attention, because so many people in one small area causes a lot of volume just from all the talking. I use the wired mic for this announcement plugged directly into the speaker because you'll have everything else set up in the main room.

The main room is pretty routine. Nice long rectangle shape, but not so big that it becomes difficult for your speakers to reach the people farthest from you. There's no need to move tables for the dance, unless it's a really big wedding.

Load In: 

From the street you will be about fifty feet from the door. Not a bad load in at all. Sometimes your table will be right by the door, other times it's in towards the back. Either way, you should be alright and a cart isn't necessary unless you really want one. 

Challenges:

Cocktail hour. It's in a crammed area by the bar away from dinner/dance. Set up a speaker and don't worry if the sound isn't carrying to the whole place. It's not a big area, but the bodies will absorb the sound. If you're trying really hard to get the music through the whole place, you will crank it up super loud for the people by the speakers and you don't want that. Use the wired mic for the announcement and crank it up loud. It might be really loud for the people who are right by the speaker, but that's okay. Best everybody hears the announcement rather than just the few people by your speaker.
