Lost Spur Golf Course

Overview:

Lost Spur Golf Course is a nifty little venue out in Eagan. There are two spaces, upstairs and downstairs. Often times, weddings will happen in both spaces at the same time. Shouldn't be too difficult to avoid interfering with each other. Here's a couple tips from a former DJ of ours back in 2012:

#1: Don’t crank your Bass up
#2: If you are upstairs, make sure your speakers are on stands, and avoid using a subwoofer
#3: If you are downstairs, don’t raise your speakers up any higher than you absolutely have to.
#4: Before the parties start, take a few minutes to introduce yourself to the other DJ, so if there are problems, it’s not quite so akward to go and ask them to turn down.

The load-in is pretty basic, you'll park outside the door and move your gear either on the main level to your table or have to travel a flight of stairs to get to your table.

I can only speak on behalf of the main-level ballroom because that's where I did my wedding at Lost Spur, but it's pretty basic. It's a simple rectangle room, which is pretty big but not overwhelming. I believe they had a venue microphone for speeches, but you'll have to call ahead to confirm.

Load In:

Park outside the main door and move your gear in. Not a difficult load in by any stretch.

Challenges:

You could come across some challenges if there are two weddings going on at the same time. Look at the above advice in the overview and don't be afraid to politely talk to the other DJ if he/she is too bass heavy or loud. It's typically bass that will interfere, so keep your bass to a minimum.

Extra Venue Call Questions:

Which ballroom will I be setting up at?

Do you have a venue microphone for speeches?

Are there any other weddings occurring on this day at Lost Spur?
